A few days before the final installment of the Lord of the Rings was released on December 16th 2003, New Line Cinemas chose to re-release the previous 2 films in theaters. On the release day for the final film New Line allowed 99 movie theaters to run a marathon of all three movies. This marathon proved immensely popular with the fans and received widespread media coverage.
We The Undersigned urge you to consider re-releasing the previous 5 films in the Star Wars series in theaters much as you did with the first 3 movies in 1997 and most importantly we urge you, at the very least, to combine all 6 movies together in a marathon format on May 19th, 2005 to celebrate the release of Revenge of the Sith, the final film in the Star Wars series. The total runtime for the Lord of the Rings trilogy in theaters was 632 minutes(plus breaks) which is not too far away from the estimated 795 minutes that all 6 Star Wars movies would require. 795 minutes can be done!
You have a special opportunity to provide a once in a lifetime experience for fans with this Star Wars movie marathon so please make it happen!
