We the undersigned demand that the rules of the Hall of Fame voting be changed, to release and make public the votes made by all of the Hall of Fame board selectors.
The Hall of Fame has turned into a popularity contest and a tit for tat system where voters have to vote for this guy to get votes for another guy. We the undersigned feel if you make the votes public, much like BCS votes, that it will eliminate a lot of the back scratching that goes on in the voting process. The Hall of Fame should not be a popularity contest and should be based solely on the individuals play and significance to the team(s) they played with and should be looked at during the era they played.
If the votes are not made public, it might as well be an Internet voting system open to the public. There are countless stories of voters holding votes ransom because their local player didnt make the cut. We must make the voters accountable so they can then answer the media as to why they feel a player did not deserve to get selected into the Hall of Fame.
