Heavy Traffic use and speed dangerous on Marsden Point Road, Ruakaka.

The use of heavy traffic (particularly logging trucks) has been identified as an issue since the increase of industry at North Port/ Marsden Point  A highway was created for this reason, however many heavy traffic vehicles continue to use Marsden Point Road. Due to having a pre-school and a high school on this road, we believe that dropping the speed to 50km/h and and having a bylaw to stipulate heavy vehicles are to use the roundabout on SH1 that turns onto Port Marsden Highway to reach NorthPort/Marsden Point Refinery.

Signage on SH1 North and South of both turn-offs to Ruakaka needs to be erected to remind Heavy Vehicles to use the Port Marsden Highway.

If you agree that 

1. There should be a bylaw stating that Heavy Vehicles accessing the Port/Refinery etc need to use the Port Marsden Highway NOT Marsden Point Road 

2. Speed along Marsden Point Road (particulary near Childcare and Schools) should be reduced to 50km/h
