The Bonnie Vale Sailing Club was established in 2010 by the residents of Bundeena and Maianbar to teach children how to sail. The club meets each fortnight during the summer months at Bonnie Vale. Dinghies are stored in members’ houses and driven to the beach for each meet. There is a dilapidated shack near the beach in Bonnie Vale that would be perfect for the club to convert into a boatshed.
• A clubhouse would ensure the survival of the club. It would act as a storage facility for the club’s small fleet of dinghies and safety craft.
• It would provide a focus for young people to learn about sailing and water safety.
• It would reduce car and trailer traffic at the beach.
• The building would be renovated and maintained by club members.
• Provide a point of positive interaction between the local community and National Parks.
• We call on National Parks to negotiate with the club to allow it to build a clubhouse in Bonnie Vale.
We, the undersigned, support Bonnie Vale Sailing Club having a clubhouse in Bonnie Vale.
