Dear Governor Jeb Bush, Secretary of DCF, Lucy Hadi, DCF Hillsborough County, Mr. Lynn Richards, and Hillsborough Kids Inc., Mr. Charles Ketchey.
The undersigned respectfully requests Gov. Bush to order an independent investigation into the way DCF and HKI have mistreated a little girl, Shadow Greene, in DCF/HKI custody since 2004. Shadow has severe brain damage, and has been institutionalized since she was 6 weeks old, despite her Grandmothers repeated requests to take her home. DCF/HKI have violated their own policies in refusing to allow Grandmother to adopt Shadow. Instead of allowing Shadow to go home with her grandmother, who will care for her without charge, HKI/DCF are spending taxpayers money to have Shadow warehoused with eight other special needs children.
Governor Bush, why is DCF/HKI abusing Shadow like this, and wasting our tax monies to do it? We would like a complete investigation and public report. Shadow deserves this.
