It is quite clear that the University of Florida is committed to conducting a proper search for Head Coach of the Universitys football team. As Gator fans we all know you both have jobs to do in addition to searching for a new head football coach and understand how frustrating it must be to combat the rumor mill on a daily basis. On behalf of the Gator Nation we would like to apologize for having to contend with such frivolous rumors. We would, however, like to make a plea to return Steve Spurrier to his post. His college coaching track record speaks for itself and his worth to the University cannot be accurately measured though we hope to give you some idea with this petition.
We, as members of the Gator Nation, through this petition, do herby request that you select Steve Spurrier as the next Head Football Coach for the University of Florida. We are confident though, should you choose otherwise, that the decision will be in the best interest of the University.
In addition to signing this petition, many of us will be composing a personal letter and addressing it to your attention further expressing our hopes that Steve Spurrier is selected as Head Football Coach. Hopefully enough mail and signatures will be received to show you how much Steve means to the Gator Nation and persuade you to make, in our eyes, the right decision. Our mail will be sent to:
