Human Organs Donation

With the recent incident at Singapore General Hospital on taking Mr.Sim Tee Hua's organs for transplant. I am totally disgusted with the police forcibly restrained the family despite the family knelt down and begged them not to take Mr.Sim body away. Answers given by Health Minister Mr. Khaw Boon Wan did not addressed the issue fully and wish the situation to die down and go away. During the whole process of Mr. Sim "Donation" of his organs, his family is treated without DIGNITY and RESPECT. Mr.Khaw did not apologised using police, to remove Mr.Sim body. This is a total dis-regard for the family feelings. I would believe if Mr Sim were alive and knows how the family is treated, he would have opt out for the organs donation. Since Singapore is a First World Country, should we not have a clause or option to consider, like the family have the last decision in donating the human organs under brain-dead condition. At present, there are no other options but to "OPT-OUT". Minister Kwek, I am a "EDUCATED" person.

By signing for opt-out, should the next-of-kin have difficulty in accepting the death (e.g. they believe in miracles or they simply need more time with the body), then the least that can do is to help the family even in death, is to give them more time with the decease.

After all, as our dearest Prime Minister has said, our first line of duty is to our family. we have to support them in death or alive. I wouldn't want any of my family to land in trouble if they have any disagreement with the hospital or police "authorities".

I wish the Citizen and Permanent Resident of Singapore, do your part and sign this petition to show your displeasure on the incident, and asked to insert a clause that the family members will have the last says.
