Our request is based on the following:
The Case for Impeachment, as described by Hon. Congresswoman Ms. Cynthia McKinney in H. Res. 1106: in accordance with: (a) Article I. Failure to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution, the conduct of which includes Manipulating Intelligence and Lying to Justify War; (b) Article II: Abuse of Office and of Executive Privilege, the conduct of which includes: Failure to Uphold Accountability; and (c) Article III: Failure to Ensure the Laws are Faithfully Executed, the conduct of which includes Illegal Domestic Spying.
The Case for Impeachment, as described by Hon. Congresswoman Ms. Cynthia McKinney in her Extension of Remarks on H. Res. 1106, entered into the Congressional Record on 27 December 2006 (pages E2253 2255); described as further actions by the President that warrant further investigation as possible grounds for impeachment as identified by many scholars, lawyers and concerned citizens, such as: [I] Failure to Ensure The Laws are Faithfully Executed: (1) Self-Exemption From Laws Upon Signing; (2) Suspension of Basic Legal Proceedings; (3) Promoting Illegal War; (4) Promoting Torture; (5) Promoting Kidnappings and Renditions for Torture; (6) Use of Illegal Weapons; [II] Abuse of Office and of Executive Privilege: (1) Obstructing Inquiry and Detection; (2) Replacing the Veto With Signing Statements; [III] Failure to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution: (1) Suspension of Due Process; (2) Unreasonable Searches and Seizures; (3) Non-Cooperation With Congress; (4) Establishment of an Unconstitutional, Parallel Legal System.
H. Res. 635, originally sponsored by Hon. Congressman R. Conyers (MI), to create a select committee to investigate the Administrations intent to go to war before Congressional authorisation, manipulation of pre-war intelligence, encouraging and countenancing torture, retaliation against critics, and to make recommendations regarding grounds for possible impeachment, is as of 18 January 2006, co-sponsored by 38 representatives, those being: -- Rep. As of January 18, 2006, the following Party resolutions supporting Impeachment have been passed by: (1) The California Democratic Party; (2) Democrats Abroad France; (3) Green Party of the United States; (4) Nevada Democratic Party; (5) New Mexico Democratic Party; (6) North Carolina Democratic Party Executive Committee; (7) North Carolina Democratic Party; (8) Wisconsin Democratic Party; (9) NH Democratic Party; (10) Vermont Democratic Party; (11) Maine Democratic Party State Convention; (12) Hawaii Democratic Party; (13) Colorado Democratic Party; (14) Alaska Democratic Party; (15) Oregon Democratic Party; and (16) California Green Party.
As of January 18, 2006, the following City/Town Council Resolutions have been passed supporting Impeachment: (1) Santa Cruz (CA) (Rumsfeld); (2) Santa Cruz (CA) (Bush); (3) Arcata (CA) City Council; (4) San Francisco (CA) City Council; (5) Brookfield (VT) Town Hall (Five Towns); (6) Dummerston (VT) Town Hall; (7) Marlboro (VT) Town Hall (Five Towns); (8) Putney (VT) Town Hall (Five Towns); (9) Newfane (VT) Town Hall; (10) Brattleboro (VT) Town Hall; (11) Rockingham (VT) Town Hall; (12) Plattsburg (NY) City Council; (13) Nederland (CO) Board of Trustees; (14) Woodstock (NY) Town Board (in support of investigation); (15) Berkeley (CA) City Council (16) Lake Station (IN) City Council; (17) Carrboro (NC); (18) Chapel Hill (NC); (19) Hanover (NY) Town Meeting; (20) Sebastopol (CA); (21) Brookline (MA); (22) Fairfax (CA); (23) New Paltz (NY); (24) Santa Barbara (CA); (25) Amherst (MA); (26) Olympia (WA); (27) Wendell (MA).
In the elections of November 7, 2006, the following cities had resolutions for impeachment on the ballot, which were voted on and passed in: (1) Berkeley, CA; (2) Champaign, IL; (3) Urbana, IL; (4) San Francisco, CA; (5) Montpelier, VT.
As of 18 January 2007, the following State legislatures have drafted and/or introduced resolutions for the Impeachment of President George W. Bush: (1) Illinois (04/21/2006); (2) California (04/26/2006); (3) Vermont (04/26/2006); (4) Minnesota (05/04/2006); and (5) New Jersey (drafted, not yet introduced).
51\% of all U.S. voters consider impeachment a priority, accordingly the New Democratic Congress, of whom you are the House Speaker, has a 51\% Mandate to Impeach President Bush: (a) Democrats.com, a Newsweek Poll Shows New Democratic Congress will Have a 51\% Mandate to Impeach Bush, (b) MSNBCs Olbermann (on YouTube), a Newsweek poll found 51\% of all U.S. voters considered impeachment a priority.
