Bill C-11 is in second reading and while it has a great deal of improvement over the current copyright law there is still a great deal of work needing to be done. We, as Canadian Publishers, authors, editors, designers, and other industry professionals believe the laws need to be stricter for Piracy. There needs to be strictor penalties for piracy in today's digital market to prevent the theft of thousands and thousands of books from valid vendors, publishers, and authors.
