Injustice to OBC students who appeared in SSC exams because of date issue.

Staff Selection Commission in its notification for SSC-CGL 2016 exam, mentioned that the OBC certificate should be issued between 15.03.2013 and 09.09.2016. This makes all the students whose certificates are not issued within prescribed dates ineligible for the reservation under OBC category even after belonging to the same. 

Honourable Supreme Court of India has held that disqualifying OBC candidates who submit their OBC certificate beyond the cut-off date goes against the Constitutional object of ending social inequality. 

Supreme Court in Ram Kumar Gijroya vs. Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has held that a candidate who appears in an examination under the O.B.C. category and submits the certificate after the last date mentioned in the advertisement is eligeligible for selection to the post under the O.B.C. category.

Supreme court categorically stated that Candidate is eligible for selection to the post under the OBC category even if the OBC Certificate was submitted after last date of application.

But still in its SSC-Junior Exam 2015,  many OBC students were denied their claim of OBC and considered as UR because their certificates were not in between prescribed dates which is contempt of court.
