This is for all the international students who have their visa till mid August but unfortunately the university is taking their re sit exams in August last week.
- Students have to pay a sum of £350 for 2 weeks of their stay and the students will get a visa for 2 months (As per the international office) only which will not cover the result period and the graduation period.
- If a student returns to home country and gives the re sit exam, an additional cost of £100 plus the British Council Charges per module would have to be borne.
- In order to get the degree students will have to travel from their home country to UK and the visitor’s visa will again cost at least £1000. Students have come from various economic backgrounds and this additional cost is too huge and most of them cannot afford this huge sum.
- Also it would be unfair between those who have a re-sit for FOFM versus those who have for other subjects. They would receive their degrees much later. Also, they would have to bare the charges of Visa application and living expenditure too.
Have the students performed so bad that they have to pay such a big sum for not clearing exam?
We request the University to kindly pre-pone the exams and at least keep it in August so that students don’t have to extend their visa.
