I am starting an online petition for those who have friends, family, and loved ones, incarcerated in the MISSOURI System. The conditions they live under are appalling. There is no apparent concern for the health or safty of our inmates, piticularly at the Jefferson City Correctional Center, Missouris newest facility. Which has been under speculation for quite some time, as to its construction issues, as well as other complaints.
This unit has been open for a couple of months now and is still serving the inmates food, prepaired in another correctional center, in Jefferson City and sent to the new facility, because of problems with the new facilitys kitchens.
There are close to 2000 inmates in this facility and unless they have families sending them enough money, every month to buy food in the comisary, they eat cold soup and sandwiches. Some inmates have no one and some have loving family that are on limited income and cant afford to send enough to compensate for the poor meals.
The worse part is the lack of concern that this will cause problems, medical as well as physical, within the facility and between inmates, and staff, which could be seen as a volital and dangerous situation. Local authorities and government officials ignore our prisons far too often. Our Prisoners are "Just a Job" and it should be looked into.

My husband is in St.joseph prison yes i agree all people should pay for the crimes they have done . But he lives in a dirty small room with six guys total in that small area and of corse they butt heads He gets one ten min phone call a week I mean come on

My brother is 23 years old. The judge could have sent him to join the Army instead if sending him to prison and he chose prison. I think that is really messed up wi this county being at war.
