Janet fans To MTV

Dear MTV

We the faithful viewers and loyal fans of Music Television, hereby present the following petition in regards to the lack of promotion and support of Janet Jackson:

It has come to our attention that there is still problems between Janet
Jackson and yourselves. From what we understand you want her to come on
MTV and talk about the Superbowl...why? That was two years ago the general
public has moved on, the media has moved on, her fans and most importantly
herself has moved on. We don't understand what's the problem and why MTV is still
hung up on something that was blown out of proportion in the first place.

Janet is your first MTV Icon lets not try and act like that didn't
happen...it did. You can't be to upset about the Superbowl and what happened from
that considering how much Justin Timberlake you all seem to be promoting and
playing these days. He was up there right along with Janet. He is not a child,
he is an adult just like Janet and made his own decisions just like Janet.
So why play this game of "well it was Janets idea so lets only blame her"
because what that is coming off as to the general public is being is racist.

Janet has been honored by the NAACP and has a great relationship with them,
the media is on her side, and she has legions of fans that will write letters,
send emails and make a much bigger deal about this than need be if we have
to. Because its wrong. All we want is her videos played and the support of
MTV with her next project.

This is 2006 not 1986 not even 1996 MTV is not the only format an artist
have in this day and time to get there songs, videos, specials out there.
Videos are sent to cell phones, videos are played in movie theaters before the
movies, there is BET, VH1, countless video channels through cable, major
networks (Janet increases ratings every show she goes on...networks like her) like
NBC, CBS, ABC & Fox to name a few. So she has other outlets but it would be
nice if MTV was on board with this project before it takes off. Carrying
around anger and hostility does nobody including yourselves any good.
