After the tragic loss of Adam Hill in April 2014 after being shot by another hunter whilst in the roar these so called accidents are becoming apparently obivious that something is wrong and needs to change we cannot let Adams death be for nothing these senseless accidents can be avoided as it stands currently no endorsements for eyesight or eyewear are printed on a firearms licence we think this should be a mandortory and ongoing process for firearms holders also we would like the charge of careless use of firearm causing death changed to manslaughter and the penalty to reflect the seriousness of this crime a penalty that imposes a jailable sentence of longer than 3 years statisics in new zealand shows most offenders receive 9 - 12 months home detention this is not acceptable for the live of a loved one if the penalty reflects the crime this may make someone think twice when they rush to impropely idenitfy their target and recklessly take a life
