Justice For Sylar

Dear Honorable James Albert :







Congress has passed many sex offender laws.These include requiring states to have a sex offender registry,creating a five year federal prison sentence for those who fail to register, and a national database of sex offenders.States have been passing a flurry of legislation regarding sex offenders, including requiring things like lifetime GPS monitoring. Yet despite these efforts, recidivism among child predators is off the charts. There is no excuse for letting these things back out on the street. They are not human. They are sick animals that need to be locked away for the rest of their lives for the sake of society.







I'm sure you are familiar with recent media accounts of child abductions and killings, such as Samantha Runnion, who was abducted from her own front yard. The man snatched the kicking and screaming girl as she played outside her Stanton home. Her nude body was found the next day about 50 miles away, left on the ground as if it had been posed. Authorities said she had been sexually assaulted and suffocated.Only 5 months ago,Christopher Ryan Richardson of Lincoln Park was charged with felony murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree child abuse. In announcing the charges, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Nevaeh Ann Richardson, who was born Nov. 15, died Nov. 24 as a result of "anal intrusion."







As a mother of two young daughters myself I have become protectively paranoid about even letting my girls play outside. They will never be allowed to travel any distance alone; never ride their bikes to school without me, and never leave my sight wherever we go. All because there is a cancer in our society which we are unwilling to deal with appropriately.







We want to ensure that justice is served this time for Syler Brooke. This is why we are asking that justice be delivered to the fullest extent of the law.We implore you to please hold Scott Wade Smith accountable for his inhumane actions which lead to the brutal and savage rape of young Skyler Brooke by issuing him a life of incarceration without chance of parole. It terrifies us to think someday Scott may walk the streets once again, only to make victim another young child.







Honorable Judge James Albert, as a Professional, an enforcer of justice, a father, please deem in necessary to keep our streets safe by having Scott Wade Smith off them for as long as the law will permit, life without parole. Thank you again for your professionalism and we pray you will consider this petition when issuing his sentence.
