Justice for The Survivors of Symphysiotomy

Irish women who unknowingly and without consent underwent symphysiotomies during childbirth between the 1950s and 1980s were left with severe side effects, including extreme pain, incontinence, depression and in some cases, being consigned to a wheelchair. This was a barbaric treatment and the Irish government have refused to open an official enquiry into it. Mary Harney and the Irish Government should start an enquiry immediately into this scandal to give these women some justice and to finally recognise what they have been subjected to.
