We, the undersigned, request that the Newark City Council, Mayor, and Law Directors enforce and/or enact the following:
1. Legislation directing Newark Police to verify correct addresses of all registered sex offenders every two weeks.
2. Legislation prohibiting sex offenders from being on school property at any time including; attendance to school functions and school visits.
3. Legislation prohibiting registered sex offenders from living within 500 feet of city/public pools, city parks, and registered daycare facilities.
4. Legislation to make a registered sex offenders status appear immediately on their file when it is brought up by the police department for traffic stops or when investigating complaints.
5. Prompt eviction of registered sex offenders living within 1000 feet of a school or preschool.
