Leniency in the case of The State of AZ vs. Louis Roundtree

To Whom it May Concern, We, the undersigned are petitioning for leniency and understanding in the case of The State of Arizona vs. Louis Roundtree, case #DV2005-0152. Current sentencing requires eviction from a home residence with a binding lease, creates an unnecessary and unreasonable physical hardship, undue financial burden, and emotional strain for dependants not named in this case and is unduly excessive to the charge. The proposed sentence of supervised probation could be transferred to Maricopa County, a common practice, without diluting the punitive effect on Mr. Roundtree. A forced move will destroy the productivity and livelihoods of not only Mr. Roundtree but also of his closest dependants. This cannot be considered justice served in any sense. We urge the Hon. Dennis Lusk of the Apache Junction Justice Court to consider allowing the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department to administer the enforcing of this sentence. While a debt to society must be paid, the collateral consequences of such a payment should be considered in its execution and such payment be delivered in a fashion that does not require the eviction of children and other dependents if it is avoidable, as it is in this case.
