LET'S GET THE OPERA HOUSE LIT UP PROPERLY FOR AUTISM AWARENESS DAY

On April 2nd this year, buildings and landmarks around the world will be lit up with bright blue lighting to mark Autism Awareness Day. What Sydney will display will be a 'slight blue glow' on the Opera House. The Nsw Premier, Barry O'Farrell has agreed to "Light It Up", but only using the glow of the ambient lighting, not the projection system fully capable of lighting up the entire area of each sail. In past years, this has been funded through private organisations at an approximate cost of $40,000, and the govt are not prepared to pay that. Many of us as individuals pay similar amounts per financial year to fund therapy for those affected by Autism. Is it too much to ask that our govt show their support for those who deal with Autism on a daily basis, and to make others in our society aware. 1 in 100 people are now diagnosed with Autism. If you count parents, grandparents, carers, support teachers, and undiagnosed adults, that is a lot of voters that will be disappointed with the support the govt is showing. Or not showing. Please help this cause by 'signing' this petition that will be forwarded on to the powers that be, in the hope that our voices will be heard.
