After expressing various concerns regarding the proposed ban on cartwheels at my child's school( Mt Davidson in Callander, Ontario)I was granted a meeting with the principal to voice my concerns in person and have it documented. The meeting is in less than 48 hours.He asked that I bring any information that speaks to my case, and it hit me : why should we have to prove it's the best the be safe AND healthy. There may be risks associated with cartwheels, as anything would have and I feel it is a short sighted decision that will have negative repercussions amongst the student body. I would like to instead,present a petition, helping to show the concern isn't just local,and it isn't just few parents or members of the community.
