We the undersigned people of the great state of Florida and, the United States of America, do here-by petition our elected state and federal represenatives all, to draft an ammendment to the Social Security Act, that will set forth a time limit of not more than (45) fourty-five days for any person to be accepted into the Social Security and S.S.I. programs. At present time it takes disabled persons (6) six months or more to be accepted into the Social Security and S.S.I. programs. We the people, feel that there is no reason for this. When a person becomes disabled and has no income they need these programs which they have paid into while working. We ask that a bill be drafted with-out hast, to speed up the acceptance time in these programs.

4. Betty Gibson | I am one of those people that this petition talks about. It took two trips to the hospital and over a year's wait to get my benefits started. Needless to say everthing I have worked so hard for is gone.
