In 2007 Liverpool will celebrate its 800th year of existence, and 12 months later, 2008, Liverpool will be the European Capital of Culture. It is time for Liverpool to again be part of American Football in this country.
Over the past 12 months the Liverpool Centurions have worked tirelessly to build a team to compete at the national level. The team has secured good facilities and a strong roster with a good mix of talented rookies and championship winning veterans and coaches.
The Centurions have also been involved in the local community, raising over 700 in donations from one charity event for Alder Hey Childrens Hospital, one of the leading childrens hospitals in the country. This work within the community will continue through 2007. They have taken training sessions to remote sites to raise awareness of the sport within Liverpool and are in the process of developing junior, youth and flag teams as part of the Centurions organization.
But to continue promoting the sport of American Football the Liverpool Centurions need to be, and deserve to be, a part of the national league structure.
We, the supporters of the Liverpool Centurions, ask you to help bring American Football back to this city and enter the Liverpool Centurions into the BAFL.
