From the first episode we saw of Roswell, Max Evans and Liz Parker had a bond between them that noone could break, even though they didn't even know each other that well. Then, as episodes went by they got closer and closer together and they could not stand to be apart. In the episode of Roswell titled "The White Room" when Max saw a vision of Liz dead, he could not stand it. Now, Tess has become part of the storyline. Trying to break the bond between Max and Liz so SHE can be with Max. In Destiny, Liz was crying and Max couldn't let go.
