Loving homes needed, just not yours

It is clear that there are not enough homes available for children in need. I am appalled to know that often, children sleep in hotel rooms with Workers because there is no place for them to go.

My husband and I have been trying for months now to have our home approved for this very reason. We have a beautifully renovated home plus a cottage on the lake, completed our physical examinations and submitted our Criminal Reference checks. We have provided numerous references from people that know our home. I have participated many times in community events either by volunteer or in part organizing the activities.

I have been given excuse after excuse as to why they have not completed my file, why we are not able to help children in need. This last reason is by far the most shameful of reasons I have ever heard...because I've had a baby. He is four months of joy. I do not understand how Agencies place children in care with families that have children of their own or place babies with families that have children in care already. I am still waiting for this letter from them...any communication from them.

We need your support to fight this. Agencies like the one we are dealing with need to re-invent their existing Policies to reflect their current practices. Please join us in protest to put a stop to this nonsense so we can help so many of the children who need a loving home. There is no need for them to sleep in a hotel when we have empty beds!
