Dear Senator:
In the last couple of years energy prices have been quite unstable given the economic demands of the world population in which Im proposing a simple approach that can solve this instability. An approach that its sole purpose is to ease the demand of oil first on the state of Florida and later on expand it by giving Floridians the options to choose fuel alternatives apart from oil. Making this proposal a reality we can lower the demand of petroleum on our state and in the same process the prices of fuel prices. The efficiency of this proposal is determined by the effects that it has on the local economy in which we can speed up the recovery of car dealers, car manufactures and a greener environment on which these factors are going to be explaining later on.
The main issue about the so called energy crisis is that we are relying basically our lives on a resource that is limited because until now is the only well-known resource that can provide our needs such as transportation and quality of life. To change this we must make a halt and reconsider all possible fuel alternatives such as hydrogen, bio-diesel, Propane among more that can control the demand for fuel. The main concern about alternative fuels is that the history of petroleum could be repeated in terms that the chosen resource can be used and standardized to a level that it could become a limited resource as for instance if we choose hydrogen water prices would be affected, bio-diesel food prices would be affected and so on. But that would be assuming that this new alternative were to replace the one that we have.
But as we can see we live in a versatile economy on which we can more than one energy resources for our conveniences such as we have select US cities that work on petroleum based fuels in terms for electricity and other cities that work with nuclear energy. If we can provide these alternatives to the average consumer then we can leverage the consumption of energy to the level that none of the prices will go up because there wont be a one for all energy alternative there will be multiple alternatives to choose from thus lowering the demand for petroleum.
The other problem that we may encounter is the distribution of these alternatives fuels given that in present times our economy is limited and we are running on a tight government budget. One of the main approach that we can make possible and that is been practiced we some energy alternatives is tax reliefs in terms that if the consumer buys an alternative fuel that is produced on US soil that purchase will be able to qualify for tax credit now the tax credit would be used to incentive car manufactures and gas stations given that they would be the ones responsible for making this proposal a reality. Thus we are improving the local economy and developing car market which slowed down due to this energy crisis.
The advantage of using tax credit is that in terms we would still be growing our economy since most of our fuel imports are from foreign countries we lose our currency to other countries on which capital is lost. Using this type of proposal we can maintain more money on US soil and rewarding companies that are investing on our products not imported ones. On which higher currency means a higher revenue on the state of Floridas operating budget thus at the same process a faster recovery from the economic downturn. The state of California is widely known for exploring alternative fuels for our country and they have cars that they were specifically engineer to work on this alternative fuels. We can begin by making a bill on which tax relief that would give the manufactures the incentive and confidence to invest in this approach by producing vehicles compatible with these fuels.
To have a better idea at the impact that this proposal will have on our economy we can calculate that the average car drive drives approximately 12000 miles annually of which given on todays gas prices each car driver spends approximately 1600 dollars annually per car which this money goes invested to foreign countries thus losing our currency value. Having in mind all of this advantages that can be generated with this proposal we can deduce that with the proper support and you not only as a senator but as a Florida citizen you can make this instead of a proposal a bill on which we all can benefit for our future. We already have the resources and the technologies to make this reality possible the main question is if we had the opportunity to help our families and see them excel and succeed on their goals just by giving the opportunity would we do it or we would think about it?
