Make Australian Idol Voting Fairer

We call on Grundy Television Pty Limited and Network 10 to change the voting system of Australian Idol in 2005, to make it fairer and more representative of the viewing audience.
Voting for the 2004 series of Australian Idol was 55 cents per telephone and SMS call, with an unlimited number of calls accepted during the voting period.
This system is unfair and inaccessible for the entire viewing population because it is limited by the amount of money individuals have available to spend on voting. This leads to a result that does not necessarily represent the views of the entire audience.
Therefore, we advocate that for the 2005 series of Australian Idol the number of votes allowed be capped per person/household - ideally with the telephone call free OR, that Internet based voting be introduced where voters register to participate.
These changes greater ensure that the result of voting is representative of the entire viewing population.
If the voting system is not made fairer and more accessible, we will boycott voting in the 2005 series.
