Hello,
I am a fashion marketing student at The Art Institute of Portland who, just like you, relies heavily on websites like Stylesight and WGSN to source images & information for projects that will ultimately be a part of my final portfolio. I started this petition because I believe we should make a switch with our trend forecasting subscription.
As you may know, WGSN is only accessible on campus (for most students). Stylesight has great images, but they are all at a poor web resolution (72dpi), making them unusable for any creative projects that would be printed.
What if there was another trend forecasting site that was accessible from home AND let you download high resolution images (300dpi—print quality)? Would that make your life much easier? Would that set you up for success when it comes to re-working your portfolio? If you answered yes to the last two questions, please read on.
After visiting the headquarters of Fashion Snoops, a trend forecasting agency based in NYC, I feel strongly that there needs to be a switch to this site!
Three main reasons why the school should switch:
1. The layout is much easier to navigate, saving us lots of time.
2. They are a family owned company, unlike Stylesight which is a huge corporation.
3. It offers much more interactive & creative platforms that benefit us: collaging, creating trend boards, and seamlessly downloading and sharing high-res images we can use in our portfolio.
Stylesight doesn’t have those qualities and, therefore, makes our lives a lot more difficult when refining our portfolio.
Making the switch to Fashion Snoops will ultimately set all of the Fashion students up for success when it comes to the time of putting together a portfolio that will get us into a well paying career.
By signing this petition, you are agreeing that you would like to have Fashion Snoops as a trend forecasting source at school instead of Stylesight.
