To: GEICO.
On September 22nd, 2004, I first saw a new commercial wherein the whole point was "advertising" a new reality TV show called "Tiny House". At the end, it's revealed that the show doesn't really exist, and that the commercial is actually for GEICO car insurance. The fake television show involved a couple moving together into a house that was accidentally built too small for them to live in comfortably. The ceiling was way too low, the bed was too small for both of them to sleep in together, and various other hilarious "clips" were shown. I thought it was probably the funniest thing I had ever seen in my life, and I was laughing out loud looking forward to learning more about this show. When it was revealed that it was a GEICO commercial and not actually a real TV show, I was disappointed. A friend of mine who was watching the commercial with me at the same time agreed on all points.
Lacking much knowledge about television production, or any of the processes involved, we decided to direct this petition to GEICO. We strongly suggest that they take their joke commercial, and present it as a real idea, to a network such as Comedy Central. The signed petitioners also think this would make an excellent show, and agree that GEICO should go through with this.
