Manatees Have Feelings Too

We, the undersigned, feel that the Manatee is not being protected by our Government sufficiently, from the abuse their encountering through hits from boat propellers. To protect these mammals and any other obstacles that come in contact, from these unnecessary hits, we believe it is important that our Government see fit to make it MANDATORY that all boaters use, the PPSheild, to insure protection from any more abuse to our Manatees. This PPSheild, would allow prevention of any contact with the Manatee or any other obstacle. It will also BENEFIT boaters, whereas they won't need more restrictions added onto the rules and regulations now in effect. We call upon the leaders of our Government, to meet in session and make this a MANDATE for all boaters to be required to use the PPShield, by the end of the year 2003. We ask that they take effective steps to stop the high rate of deaths and abuse that is preventable by the use of the PPShield.
