Maximum Penalty to Mr. Juan Gomez for child abuse

This petition is being written in hopes of getting the MAXIMUM prison term, which is 15 yrs to Juan Gomez of Ozone Park, Queens NY.

We realize that the conviction & the sentence COMES from the Court not a petition. But this case is very important to not only New York but to all other states, where families have lost their family members to abuse. If you are a parent of a small child, then you would understand how horrific his crime was.

This man, Juan Gomez, of Ozone Park, Queens, was arrested on Friday March 6th 2010 by the Queens Child Abuse Squad and charged with first- and second-degree assault. He was arraigned at Queens Criminal Court late Saturday night, and Mr. Gomezs court-appointed lawyer pleaded not guilty on his behalf.

Mr. Gomez is accused of abusing his daughter, Hailey, while caring for her when her mother was at work. Baby Hailey was admitted to Schneider Childrens Hospital at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center on Feb. 25 with 17 fractured ribs, a lacerated liver, a broken ankle and trouble breathing caused by a disruption to the lining of her lung, among other injuries. Some of the injuries appeared to have been inflicted earlier, including fractures to the leg and foot that were already healing.

Juan Gomez HAS to be held accountable for what he did. What makes the crime more heinous is that he was the father of the child.

With this petition, we are asking that Mr. Gomez not only be CONVICTED of the felony but that he also receives the maximum prison sentence which is 15 yrs.

We ALL must stick together to STOP any & all child abuse. Laws are in place for a reason. We HAVE to step in & put a stop to all abuse when we witness it. All you have to do is make a phone call. You don't have to step in & try to physically stop it BUT you do have to take the first step which is picking up your phone.

We HAVE to be the voice for those that have no voice. We have to be the voice behind that small child or that panicked & threatened spouse. Please join us in this attempt to make changes.
