THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
OF
Dr. Richard L. McCormick
As President, Rutgers University
We, the undersigned, as alumni, students and friends of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, implore the Governor of the State of New Jersey and the Board of Governors of Rutgers University to take immediate action for the removal of Dr. McCormick from his position as President of the University and immediately form as Search Committee to review and recommend appropriate and qualified candidates to lead the University forward beginning with the academic year 2009.
It is our strong belief that Dr. McCormick has not exhibited the strength of character, the leadership qualities or decision making abilities commensurate with his office at one of the leading public educational institutions in the nation.
Retaining strong reservations about his capability to promote the welfare and growth of Rutgers University, both academically as well as in all phases of student life, this Petition has as one of its central cause for this action the unfounded and unwarranted removal of Mr. Robert Mulcahy as Athletic Director of Rutgers University on December 10, 2008 self-admittedly without cause and with no justification forthcoming to date. Such actions as these reflect badly on the University not only within the State of New Jersey but also deleteriously affecting the Universitys reputation nationally.
We therefore plead that this action be taken at the soonest possible time.

NJ Taxpayer and Rutgers Dad and Tuition Payer. President McCormick, your firing of Robert Mulcahey was a shameful, cowardly act. You do not have the honor or character necessary to lead my state's flagship university. It's time for you to go.
