Memorandum for Consideration of Sericulture Graduates for the post of Scientists-B in Central Silk BoardSB

Respected Sir/Madam,

Sub: Inclusion of Sericulture subjects for the post of Scientists-B.

Ref: Your advertisement no: CSB-2/2014.

Adverting to the above cited subject and reference, we the students who have completed M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Sericulture are very much discouraged and shocked to know that, in the above referred advertisement, PG in sericulture is totally left out.  As your kind-self is aware, sericulture is a specialized and synthesized subject of botany, zoology and agriculture.  We have all completed our PG in sericulture hoping for the best career in sericulture enterprise.  In India 10 universities and have started offering M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses in sericulture including 5 Agricultural Universities. Quite a good number of students have successfully completed PG and Ph.D. courses in sericulture and are waiting for an opportunity.    

Central Silk Board being the major R & D organizations of the country promoting sericulture as the best enterprise. PG course in sericulture should be desirable subjects if not compulsory. Further, at the time of considering candidates for interview/ selection, of the candidates having PG and Ph.D. in sericulture shall be given highest preference as they have already working experience in the field of sericulture.  In case if it is not done this would amount to a clear cut injustice to the students having done PG course in sericulture. In view of the above, we request you to kindly reconsider the request and issue the corrigendum to this effect.
