Meteor HTC Hero Network Problems

From day one the phone has been disconnecting from the network, reportedly due to problems with the phone connecting to 2G networks when 3G is not available. On average anyone who has a HTC Hero on Meteor probably drops off their network 5 times (conservative estimate) per day, meaning their phone does not even function for recieving calls.
For months people have been complaining to Meteor about this problem and initially it seemed they would replace sim cards and handsets to offer a fix, none of which worked.
Four months on Meteor still do not have an answer and people are being told that the issue is being looked at and they will let us all know soon. It's getting beyond a joke. You can see the issue being discussed here: http://forums.meteor.ie/index.php?showforum=23
Last week Meteor launced a new HTC Android phone, the Legend on their network. This phone does NOT drop off the network.
The peition asks Meteor to give us a firm date and an explanation as to why our phones do not function on your network, and if out of decency you could tell us when it'll be fixed. Short of that you should replace our Android phones with the HTC Legend which DOES work on your network. People have been giving you 55 euro a month to be on your surf plan, it's the least you could do.
