More Testing for the TASER Gun

This petition is to stop the inhumane use of the TASER gun which sends electrical volts through one's body and forces muscles to contract. It is said to be extremely painful, and it knocks one to the ground. While the gun may have a place in law enforcement when used appropriately, and it is possibly more humane than a normal gun, further, unbiased testing is needed to determine if it is really safe--testing not done by a TASER paid employee. Police officers are being forced to endure a shot by the TASER before carrying the gun. Though there are past claims of injury (disc ruptures, colon problems, death), officers are still required to be shot with it before carrying it. Why don't we just shoot a bullet in their leg, too? Let them see how it feels before they shoot someone else. This petition is to stop this treatment and other misuse of the TASER gun until proper, in depth, and long-term studies have been completed.
