For years, fans of The Supremes, The Temptations, The Four Tops,Diana Ross, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Marvin Gaye, StevieWonder, The Jackson 5, The Miracles, The Marvelettes and other Motowngroups and artists have been persistent in showing their support andinterest for the release of TV specials, live concerts and TVappearances, (including those made on The Ed Sullivan Show). After nearly forty years, many of these classic film projects have sat in the vaults. Barely any of them have yet to have been released onto VHS or DVD. With millions of fans world-wide, and legendary status, it is very shocking that these titles are still not commercially available. Furthermore, in the new 21st century of technology, many other artists of the past, such as Barbra Streisand, The Beatles, Elvis, Liza Minelli, etc., have had an abundant amount of releases, yet Motown has had no representation in the video world. We believe that these artists more than deserve that their legacy be preserved, especially on film, for future generations and fans across the world, many of whom have not had the chance to see the magic of these artists on stage or on film. It is a disgrace that artists with no talent, such as "William Hung", can easily have a DVD released, yet legendary Motown icons cannot. Most of these film projects were only aired once on television, four decades ago, and they deserve to be shown again. The following petition is a display of support, dedication and interest from Motown fans across the globe who would be willing to purchase such products on DVD.
