The loss of life on Britain's railway's through the operators negligence and refusal to fence train lines in public areas like parks and beside roads is way too high. This is human, cats, dogs, horses etc all loved and all missed by those left behind to grieve. The deaths of many go unrecorded as Network Rail do not scan dead animals and they are disposed of and not recorded anywhere.
Cassie's Fence Campaign was the starting point for this Group. Cassie, a service dog for her deaf owner was tragically killed on an unfenced railway line in Harlow Town Park in 2009. From this campaign we have been made aware of many many more such cases, and as a result have decided to make this Campaign a National one. (although we will continue to work on the original campaign as well)
At present there is no one singular law on the fencing and safety of train tracks in public places. We want that changed. Rail operators should be held accountable in Court for the deaths that they cause.

In loving memory of Cassie x
