Currently there is a day celebrating our mums, a day celebrating our dads, but there is no day celebrating New Zealand grandparents and the unique role they play in our families and communities. This is a real opportunity to create a day to for our grandparents to be acknowledged and celebrated for who they are for us and our families; for the amazing contribution of love they are in our lives.
I invite you to sign this e-petition: We respectfully request that the House of Representatives institute an annual Grandparents' Day to celebrate and honour grandparents, and to recognise and acknowledge the special role they play in families and communities.
NB: The House of Representatives does not accept e-petitions, however, the following wording of the paper petition that will be submitted to the House is the way around it: We respectfully request that the House of Representatives institute an annual Grandparents' Day to celebrate and honour grandparents, and to recognise and acknowledge the special role they play in families and communities; and that the House note that _____ people have supported an e-petition making the same request.
You support does make a difference. Thank you.
