CRD's park plan for the new Sea to Sea regional park has been rejected by Sookes mayor Janet Evans. She has been convinced by a recently very vocal motorised off road user group to derail this plan in the final stage of completion, so that they can now be heard and make a claim for access to this park.

Allowing ATVs in CRD parks is completely contradictory to the mandate to "foster ... respect for the region's natural environment." There is ample evidence that these ATV users show no respect for the land they are destroying
