NO!!! to the Highwood Towers Proposal

We the undersigned wish to express our disapproval of the proposed Highwood Towers development on the current Hotel Moraine site in Highwood, Illinois.
We do not believe any perceived financial benefits for the City treasury (that may well be grossly overstated) outweigh the negatives associated with greater density for our already overcrowded city, two nine-story towers that will be eyesores, depressing effect on existing condo prices and rental property, traffic & parking concerns, embarrassment to the City from neighboring communities, and so forth. The criteria for granting a variance of this nature cannot be supported.
We believe that any redevelopment of this property (which was once a major asset for the City before being allowed to deteriorate by the current owner) should only be considered in conjunction with an overall plan for the Sheridan Road corridor, particularly including the North Shore Estates complex.
Please reject this proposal. Thank you for your consideration.
