We the undersigned of this petition are all citizens of not only the United States but of the world, the planet Earth. We are writing this petition in response to the government's efforts to stop the depletion of the ozone layer. By not contributing to the cause that many other countries including those of the EU(European Union) are supporting, the United States refuses to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases produced by industries. President Bush chooses economic growth over the safety of the world. The actions of this country matters most because we emit 20\% or more of the total greenhouse gases compared to the rest of the world. The UK as a whole for example only emits 2\% of the world's greenhouse gases even though their population easily outnumbers that of the United States. Being the leading country economically, the world expects us to take action and a leadership role in world affairs and Global warming is one which everyone must inevitably face.
