WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, WISH TO TELL THE MAYOR OF VANCOUVER, THE CITY COUNCIL OF VANCOUVER, AND THE VANCOUVER POLICE DEPARTMENT, THAT YOUR PARKING BYLAWS AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS INCLUDING THOSE SURROUNDING THE BEHAVIORS OF POLICE, TRAFFIC AND PARKING BY-LAW OFFICERS REQUIRES MAJOR REVIEWS AND CHANGES. WE WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THE FOLLOWING:

A PUBLIC FORUM BE HELD TO OBTAIN THE VIEWPOINTS AND OPINIONS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC REGARDING THE GUIDELINES AROUND THE MANNER IN WHICH TICKETS ARE ISSUED AND OFFICER BEHAVIOUR.

THE FORUM SHOULD ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING CONCERNS:

THE GUIDELINES SURROUNDING "DISCRETIONARY" DECISIONS MADE BY AN OFFICER WHO IS ISSUING A PARKING OR SPEEDING TICKET AND THEIR BEHAVIOURS UPON ISSUING THE TICKET.

THE PARKING BYLAWS CONCERNING THE TIMELINE ALLOWED BEFORE CARS ARE TOWED OR TICKETED IN LIMITED TIMED PARKING ZONES.

REVIEW AND AMENDMENT OF GUIDELINES AROUND WHEN AND WHERE AN OFFICER CAN OR CANNOT ISSUE TICKETS.

POOR POLICE RESPONSE TO 911 CALLS REGARDLESS OF THE SEVERITY OF CALLS.
