Mayor Peter Kelly of the Halifax area gave the call to evict peaceful protestors for being on land that he told them to move to.
The protestors were evicted on Remembrance day in the pouring rain. Kelly posted some photos of the Remembrance day ceremony on his facebook to commemorate those who fought for our freedom, yet he won't allow those in his own back yard their right to freedom. Ironic.
This is not about whether or not we agree with the Occupy N.S. protest, this is about our rights as human beings to peacefully protest for what we believe in. This is to prove to Mayor Kelly that he has shamed his city, and shamed his people.
We need to stand up for the rights all individuals. We deserve the right to protest. We deserve the right to let our voice be heard. This world is just as much ours as it is yours.

Some other reasons to petition: (Source: Wikipedia)
"Kelly has been criticized for the failure of the city's sewage treatment plant, and giving $400,000 of public money as an unauthorized loan for a Black Eyed Peas concert which was never repaid when the promoter went out of business."
