Subject: Statement Of Opposition Against Mumbai University's Error In The TYBSc Life Science Marklist
We, the undersigned, are students of Life Sciences at colleges affiliated to the Mumbai University. Our colleges displayed our TYBSc statement of marks on the 25th of June, 2011. We found that marks of Paper II theory for the entire Lifescience batch (6units and 3 units) averaged less than 35. We have reason to believe that marks of Section I (Developmental Biology) have not been mentioned, nor added to the grand total. In addition, 6 units Life Sciences students' Paper IV marks also do not include Section I (Environmental Biology) as is evident from the marks list.
As a result of the above, many students ended up getting marks far below what they deserved. Several got a second class and several more failed. It is a matter that requires immediate attention as students need to present their marksheets for admission purposes to different institutes. While, the Mumbai University might be willing to overlook the discrepancy in the marksheets of its students during admissions, other Universities will not.
We urge the Mumbai University to quickly look into the matter and release the rectified marklist at the earliest.
Yours Sincerely,
