We, the undersigned, hereby call for the resignation of the Minister of Transport Noel Dempsey, over his appalling and ludicrous decision to force Learner drivers to be accompanied by a qualified driver at all times, or face fines of up to 1000. This is not in anyway possible for the majority of us, due to work and daily travel commitments. It is also not feasible due to the long waiting lists for full licence tests, and the fact that only 5 days notice of this change to the law has been given. It is clear that Noel Dempsey is unfit to hold this position any longer and we ask for his immediate removal from office.

How is it that if you get a full licence you can drive a car but yet you are not entitled to sit with a learner driver when they are driving.Its an absolute disgrace. As usual the RSA havent thought this through.

I fully agree that something needs to done with the amount of provisional drivers on the roads, However this is the worst way to go about it. How about getting the waiting times for tests to 6 weeks before implementing this stupid law. Noel Brett and Gay
