Petition to the American Kennel Club..Regarding IR&WS Studbook Removal of non IR&WS/IS and non Pure IR&WS.

To Concerned Breeders and Fanciers of Pure IR&WS

The Irish Red and White Setter Association Inc. was appointed parent club for our breed earlier this year due in large by support from many fanciers around the world.

I am sure most of you are aware of the problems facing our breed in the United States due to the fact that there are dogs of mixed blood recorder the AKC/FSS Recording Dept. at this time. The Irish Red and White Setter Association Inc. is taking on the task of requesting that these dogs with American Irish Setter blood be removed from the stud book.


As supporters of pure bred Irish Red and White Setters, we request your signature on this petition in support of the mixes being removed from the studbook.
The IRWS Association Inc. will collect these signatures and present them to AKC in a booklet form.
We request that you state your concerns about these Mixed bred dogs in the stud book and how they could affect breeders around the World.

These mixes must be removed from the stud book before AKC grants our breed full recognition, otherwise these dogs could be used in a breeding program with any pure imports or dogs descending from pure stock.


We sincerely appreciate your help in this matter which should be a concern to all Pure Irish Red and White Setter breeders and owners around the world.
