Please do not remake Friday the 13th

It's obvious, when comparing New Line Cinema's Friday the 13th DVD releases to Paramount's, that New Line cares a great deal more about selling a quality product, at for a reasonable price, that will make horror fans happy, whereas Paramount's releases were over-priced, and under-featured. New Line Cinema has already proven that, with today's technology, new and exciting elements can be added to the series, such as sending our favorite anti-hero, Jason Voorhees, into outer space. Some people may have loved it, some people may have hated it, but one cannot deny that New Line Cinema has tried, three times now, to bring something new to the series, to breathe life into it once more.
The true fans of the Friday the 13th series will be, and are, disappointed that all of the time, money, and effort that goes into creating a film will only be used to remake a movie that we've all seen already. Not only that, the film, having only seven months to be produced, not to mention the fact that, as of this writing, there is not even a script, will most feel rushed and unfinished, lacking what little potential a remake may have.
While this may be opinion of only one person, I honestly and truly believe that the overwhelming majority of horror fans feel the same way. New Line Cinema has done great things with the series since aquiring the rights, and it makes no sense to stop now. Friday the 13th films are marketed to a very specific audience. It may never be a tremendous box-office draw, but isn't making the films' fans' happy what's truly important? If the fans aren't happy, what will keep them coming back?
