We the undersigned are horrified at the atrocious events taking place on September 11, 2001. We feel deeply for the victims, their families, and anyone who was touched by those tragic events. We recognize that those responsible must be brought to justice, and that the government should take steps to ensure that such things never happen again. We see these terrorist attacks as attacks on the rights and freedoms of America’s citizens- and we are eager to see those responsible brought to justice. However, we also realize that we cannot protect freedom by abridging it. We respectfully ask that, in efforts to bring down those who caused this terrible tragedy, Congress and the President refrain from the following actions: -Raising our taxes, -Enacting a Draft, -Abridging any of the freedoms guaranteed to us by the Bill of Rights. We are disgusted and outraged at this act of terror against the people of the United States. We support the efforts of the Government to bring those responsible to justice. We ask that the US government protect us from terrorists while not infringing upon our freedom.
