Protest Against Cardinal Law

We vigorously protest the outrageous decision by church officials that resulted in Cardinal Bernard Law's celebrating Mass in mourning for Pope John Paul II in St. Peter's Basilica. The cardinal's handling of the sex abuse scandal in the U.S. Catholic Church should have disqualified him from that honor.

380. Paul Wm | Cardial Law, indeed the entire College of Cardinals, has merely proven, once again, that they are not leaders. They continue to use their position to abuse the power they have so arrogantly usurped from the people.

379. Dr Josephrs | To all the world this is a scandalous Vatican bureaucracy showing it's most insensitive and uncaring nature -- a click of good old boys completely out of touch with reality and totally undeserving of respect from anyone inside or outside the church.

376. John Jh | Yes, Cardinal McCarrick, we are an Easter people and because of the risen Christ we incorporate forgiveness and joy in our lives. We laity must find a way, utterly impossible as it may seem, to forgive Bernard Law for permitting the rape of our children.
