Put Pressure on KABC to ADD WOMEN to its Monday Friday Lineup

This petition is in support of a campaign to increase the number of women on the air and the amount of airtime given to the women who do appear on the air at KABC.

Of KABCs total weekly airtime, 84\% features exclusively male-hosted programming and only a mere 7\% is exclusively hosted by women. During the week, women hosts receive absolutely no airtimelisteners must wait for the weekend to hear a show hosted by a woman. In fact, KABC, a station driven by political talk shows, relegates its female political talk show hosts to Saturday night, hardly a peak in radio listening time. Moreover, there are 13 shows hosted exclusively by males and only four shows hosted exclusively by women, one of which is a cooking show.

Given the significantly larger proportion of women that comprise the population at large (more than seven times the percentage represented on the KABC airwaves), we find the number of women on the KABC airwaves and the airtime they receive to be egregiously low. Considering that women almost certainly make up more than 7\% of KABC listeners, we request that more women be represented on the air and more airtime be given to the women who do appear on the air.
