Rainhill 109 Bus Withdrawal

We, the Residents of Rainhill do not agree with the decision to withdraw the 109 bus service from St Helens-Rainhill. This service is much needed as it is the only service that operates at night and on Sundays for the residents of Rainhill between the Stoops and Skew Bridge. Residents (many elderly or young teens) would now have to pay upto 50p extra AND walk for upto half an hour to get from Rainhill Road to Rainhill Stoops from the 10a. The only other option is to get the 194/195, but this still requires a long walk as it does not operate on Warrington Road (ie past the High School and through the village).
The bus services are already inadequate with the 137/138 overcrowded and infrequent so we, the residents of Rainhill, petition you not to withdraw the 109 service so we can help meet government and EU targets of cutting carbon emissions aswell as provide easy access into St Helens.
